In this interview with NIKE POPOOLA, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, National Sugar Development Council, Mr Zacch Adedeji, speaks on how development of the sugar industry can create wealth and employment for the countryterms of sugar production in the country, the activities of the NSDC have not been very pronounced. How do you intend to make the impact of the agency more felt?
But I think every stakeholder agrees that we could do much better in terms of our attainments and this is what we are aggressively trying to address. It would reduce importation and the demand for foreign exchange and could even earn us dollars from export. So, those that conceived the plan really had the best intentions.
There has been a controversy in the sugar sector, especially with the recent dispute between two dominant players in the industry, Dangote and BUA, over issues of pricing. How have you been able to address this issue?
