Disturbed by the rising cases of sexual violence in the country, a non-governmental organisation , Kick Against Child Abuse , in partnership with a music label, Jamika Entertainment, has organised an awareness to arouse parents and guardians to be watchful of the predators in the society.
During the exercise, which held yesterday in Abule-Egba, Lagos State, the organisers harped on adequate protection for young people against philanderers. KACA Chairman, Jerry Ihensekhien, implored parents to pay more attention to their children and shield them from violators within their families, friends and settlements.
He told the guardians that a bulk of these sex offenders were close relatives and acquaintances that feigned love as doting uncles, aunts and neighbours.“Sexual predators don’t have the appearances of criminals that we might imagine them to be.”
