Reports on the removal of service chiefs and appointment of new ones dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers

The Punch reports that President Bola Tinubu has sacked all service chiefs and appointed successors. The federal government said it has set up a steering committee to consider the various demands presented by organised labour over the removal of petrol subsidy, the newspaper says. Vanguard reports that the naira on Monday depreciated by 16 percent to N770.38 to a dollar in the investors and exporters window following a surge in the demand for dollars. The newspaper says Mele Kyari, group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, has pledged the commitment of the company to the federal government’s plan for net zero carbon emission in the country by year 2060.
