The Nation Newspaper New minimum wage: May 1 not feasible, says TUC President
President Festus Osifo yesterday ruled out the possibility of the announcement of a new minimum wage in the country on this year’s Workers Day, which is just five days away.
He said: “It is now N615,000. Regarding the when for the new minimum wage, the committee is still working. Government subsequently set up the committee headed by Aji, a former head of service of the federation. Shettima said at the committee’s inauguration that it was a reaffirmation of President Tinubu’s desire to motivate the nation’s workforce which he describes as the cornerstone of the administration.
