NSTnation: A new judge will hear Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s RM1 million corruption case.
This follows the Court of Appeal’s decision allowing the former federal territories minister’s appeal to recuse High Court judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali from hearing his ongoing bribery trial.
On Feb 12, a three-member Court of Appeal bench allowed Tengku Adnan’s appeal to set aside Nazlan’s decision in refusing to recuse himself from hearing the trial. This comes on the heel of the guilty plea on an alternative charge entered by property tycoon Datuk Tan Eng Boon who was to be jointly tried with the Putrajaya Member of Parliament before the same judge.
