Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya has assumed office as the new Commissioner for Information in Kano State . The handover was conducted on Monday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad, and was attended by a number of officials, including management staff, heads of agencies under the Ministry, and a host of well-wishers, friends, and relatives.

In his inaugural address, Comrade Wayya expressed his readiness to work in close collaboration with journalists to ensure that government policies and programs are accurately and effectively communicated to the public. The media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion, and I look forward to fostering a strong working relationship with the press to ensure transparent communication, he said. Wayya also emphasized his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the Ministry's staff, a move he believes is essential for boosting morale and improving service delivery. He further highlighted plans to enhance staff capacity through skills development and training. We will focus on capacity building to equip our staff with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively, Wayya added. The new Commissioner reiterated his determination to support the state government by ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of information about its activities. He also acknowledged the importance of Civil Society Organizations in promoting good governance and pledged continued collaboration with them. The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad, congratulated Wayya on his appointment and expressed the Ministry staff's readiness to collaborate with him. We will work diligently to provide maximum support to ensure effective service delivery, Muhammad said
