But the data doesn't tell the whole story
Residents in a suburb ranked as one of the most deprived in Nottingham have said the data 'doesn't lie' in describing their area. But neighbours in Radford say the deprivation scale does not show the whole picture, as they depicted a community where people support one another.
“I’ve lived here all my life right and the Castle Retail Park is the only place that I can think of that could be the reason people come here.” Chelsea continued, adding: “Walk down Alfreton Road and you’ll see two shops open, vacant buildings with shutters down and then other shops that are open, there’s a battered pub halfway down.
Mohammed Ameer, 36, has lived in Radford for four years. Mohammed enjoys living in the area. He said: “I like Radford, as soon as I moved here, I thought it was great, I still think this but there are a lot of unemployed people here.
