THE Katsina Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday disclosed that it arrested 158 suspects for drug-related offences from January, 2020 to date.

The NDLEA in the state also disclosed that it was able to get 16 convictions from those prosecuted for drug-related offences within the period.

NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr.Sule Momodu, made the revelation at a press conference to mark the 2020 United Nations Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. He said those arrested and convicted were all males, adding that the convictions also ranged from three months to two years. Momodu further disclosed that the agency seized 361.15 kg of assorted hard drugs during the period under review.

The commander said the agency also counselled no fewer than 120 persons on the risks involved in hard drug consumption.All rights reserved.
