Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has expressed confidence that Nigerians would soon appreciate President Bola Tinubu for endorsing Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker of the House. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) formally adopted Abbas as its candidate for the Speaker position in April 2023.
Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has expressed confidence that Nigerians would soon appreciate President Bola Tinubu for endorsing Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker of the House. The ruling All Progressives Congress formally adopted Abbas as its candidate for the Speaker position in April 2023. Tinubu's recommendation led to the party's support for Abbas, resulting in other contenders stepping down in preparation for the 10th Assembly's inauguration.
He elaborated on Abbas's commitment to transparency and training, stating, 'The Speaker is committed to open NASS, where all and sundry would be abreast with the workings and happenings of the House in what we call citizens engagements. He is committed to providing quality training for lawmakers, bureaucrats, and even journalists covering the House.
