NASS Leadership Election: Wase concedes defeat, says he bears no malice towards anyone

, the immediate past deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, has congratulated Tajudeen Abbas and Ben Kalu on their election as speaker and deputy speaker.

In a concession statement on Wednesday, Mr Wase said he considers himself and Mr Abbas as partners in improving the legislature, despite being in opposing camps before the election. Mr Wase also said he holds no malice towards anyone, including those who wished to vote for him but voted for his opponent.

The former deputy speaker also commended President Bola Tinubu for the fatherly support he continued to give him since 2007 when he entered the House on the platform of the defunct Action Congress , a party founded by Mr Tinubu.I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu on their election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively of the 10th House of Representatives.

Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu on their victory and urge my supporters and well-wishers, as well as my fellow contestants to give them all the cooperation required to achieve a stable and united 10th House of Representatives.
