component of Operation Hadin Kai has reportedly killed many fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province in a fresh airstrike in Borno.region, the insurgents were killed in an operation in the Andakar, Musari and Klabariya areas of Marte LGA of the state on Monday.

Military sources told the publication that the attack was conducted by the troops on the back of intelligence that the insurgents — who fled NAF’s airstrikes in Jubularam, Kwalaram and Sabon Tumbu — were converging for a meeting in Marte. The sources said “the attack was preceded by a series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions which confirmed the heavy presence of terrorists spread across the settlements”.“As the aircraft arrived overhead the target area in Andakar, several ISWAP were seen attempting to flee. The aircraft attacked the location, recording a successful direct hit on the target area, leading to the neutralisation of several terrorists as well as the destruction of their vehicles and logistic”.

TheCable had reported how six ISWAP fighters were gunned down on June 24, 2023, in an ambush near Bula Yobe and Darajamal road, Bama LGA of Borno.Advertisement
