The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has said that it seized tramadol worth over N1.1trillion from entering the country based on intelligence its operatives gathered. This comes as it reported that a recent raid resulted in the seizure of products that were fake, illegal, and counterfeit, valued at about N1.3 million. This was stated by Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC, on Tuesday in Abuja in response to inquiries from journalists.

At the point when I came in, we were swimming in tramadol as a country. “We have seized over N1.7tn worth of tramadol containers since that time. We were called by an informant at high places that we should expect 31 containers of tramadol that were labelled as building materials. It was only one out of the containers that contained building materials.
