Knife killer John Blake had extra time added to his 17-year minimum life term after numerous phone offences
A murderer had his prison sentence extended by nine months after being caught with illicit sim cards four times in under a year at Perth Prison.
But Sheriff Alison McKay told him that he would have more chance to get on the course and be considered for parole if he stopped smuggling phones and sim cards into the jail. Blake, from Lochgelly, admitted four separate complaints of having illicit sim cards in the maximum security prison on July 29 and August 12 2022, and April 11 and May 5, 2023. The August charge related to “a quantity” of sim cards.
“He had been asking for assistance, but it didn’t make its way to him and he sought the ability to speak with his loved ones in a fashion he knows he ought not to have done. Sean died after he tried to stop his neighbour being beaten up and he was left to bleed to death outside his home by Blake.
