‘This Government’s incompetence has undermined our NHS and put lives at risk’
An MP has openly accused the Conservative Government of ‘corruption’ and ‘cronyism’ over its investment in private companies rather than public institutions.Party MP for Liverpool Walton, stood up in the House of Commons to give a powerful speech yesterday.
He said one of his constituents was forced to spend £40 on petrol she didn’t have and drive 70 miles to South Wales with an autistic child in the car, only to find the test centre had closed for the day because it had run out of tests.
He referenced the £12 billion of public money reportedly given to private companies, such as Serco, to fund the ‘failing’ test and trace system. ‘If you’ve got a problem with any of this, why not take it up with the Government’s anti-corruption champion: Dido Harding’s [head of test and trace] husband and a Tory MP.‘This Government’s incompetence, its cronyism, its ideological obsession with outsourcing and rip-off privatisation has undermined our NHS and put lives at risk.’
