The Bureau, in its latest report on the prices of LPG, popularly known as cooking gas, stated that the average price for refilling of a 5kg cylinder, increased by 1.37 percent month-on-month to N2,067.68 in February 2019 from N2,039.82 in January 2019, while average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for cooking gas decreased by -0.77 percent.

Though the actual cause of the increase in February was not revealed, there were indications however that the development was as a result of the inability of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, to import more product within the period. However, average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for cooking gas decreased by -0.77 percent MoM to N4,244.91 in February 2019 from N4,277.86 in January 2019.
