Hundreds of motorists, who are daily trapped in the gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway due to the curfew imposed on both Lagos and Ogun states, have lamented the hardship they face.
reports that motorists are being prevented by security agents from coming into Lagos and Ogun states from 8pm till 6am.
He said, “I am going to Ogun State and my journey has been affected. I have been in the gridlock for some time and my journey is stressful. The curfew is good, but the bad road is making the drivers find it hard to get to their destinations before the stipulated periods.” The lawyer said, “There is a curfew, which is supposed to be from 8pm to 6am, and everybody is rushing back home to beat the time. There has always been gridlock on the road due to the reconstruction work.”
“The security agents have been collecting money. Whenever they arrest those violating the curfew, they don’t take them to any court of law. What they do is to park your car somewhere and collect money from you to set you free. I am saying this because I have been a victim,” Imelda said.
