Commercial drivers and other users of the Idiroko Road in Sango Ota, Ogun State, have lamented the hardship they are daily experiencing due the bad state of the road.
, said the bad state of the road was spoiling vehicles, causing terrible gridlock and making trucks to fall.
He said, “I was laid off because the truck I was driving fell down on that road and I was forced to start driving a commercial bus. I can’t count the number of times that trucks have fallen down due to the bad condition of that road. We are not finding it easy; the road is affecting our daily income; we are making very little money.
“I want to be sincere with you, the road is disastrous. The government needs to do something about it and help the users. My daughter nearly gave birth on the road, while we were conveying her to hospital. I just want the government to have mercy on us,” she stated.that a number of residents had shut down their business due to lack of patronage, adding that her own was on the verge of crumbling.
