As the car glided towards the Toll Gate, another security post mounted by the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamedwas seen about a few miles after the Guru Maharaji’s domain. About four Amotekun corps were seen with their Dane guns and whips. They were vigilant, moving around and staring at everything and everyone in sight.
The next police post was a distance after the Onigaari area opposite the Islamic Vacation Course permanent site and campground of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, B-Zone. Two vans were parked and a cop was spotted. He stated, “The security on the highway is better than what it was before now. There are many Amotekun corps, soldiers and police on the road.”
He said, “Most of the passengers have returned. Many of them shunned travels over insecurity on the highway but they seemed to have returned with the improved security.’’ Commending the government, Oluwasegun noted that more work could still be done, adding “A 24-hour surveillance of that road has to be effected by the government. It’ll make it safer for everyone. Evil perpetrators will reconsider their attacks when they realise that there’s no laxity on the part of the security agents.
