Former midfielder Lebogang Mothibantwa has revealed his disappointment on his ex-team Orlando Pirates, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.
While the Buccaneers have been lauded for their improved performances since the start of the season, sceptics have been concerned about the team’s inconsistent results. Many feel that the Soweto giants could have been higher up on the log and competing with champions Mamelodi Sundowns in these early stages of the campaign had it not been for some disappointing results which they believe could have been avoided.
With coach Jose Riveiro and the team finalising preparations for a return in the CAF Champions League against Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy this weekend, as well as the eagerly awaited league clash against Sundowns, Mothibantwa has reiterated the importance of consistency for Bucs to challenge for the championship. “Look at Sundowns, what is helping them is that they are consistent in whatever they do. If they see that something is working for them, they try to improve it. They shouldn’t underestimate certain teams because that’s what I think is happening, that they are underestimating certain opponents. That’s my problem with them,” he said.
