Abba Kabir Yusuf, governor of Kano, has warned public officials under his administration to steer clear of misconduct following the resignation of Ibrahim Namadi Dala, transportation commissioner.

August 6, 2025 6:02 pmAbba Kabir Yusuf, governor of Kano, has warned public officials under his administration to steer clear of misconduct following the resignation of Ibrahim Namadi Dala, the transportation commissioner.Speaking at the executive council meeting in Kano, the governor said the administration would not tolerate any act that undermines its integrity and values.

Yusuf said the development should serve as a wake-up call to all political appointees and civil servants in the state.“Let it be clear: we will not tolerate any conduct—official or private—that undermines the values we stand for,” the governor said. “Every public official must be vigilant and responsible in their dealings. You are not only representing your office but the integrity of the entire administration.

“If anyone among you feels he can no longer uphold the trust bestowed upon him, it is better to voluntarily resign rather than engage in misconduct that could tarnish the image of this administration.”Yusuf said his government’s fight against drug abuse, trafficking, and other social vices remains central to his mission.“We came into office with a clear mandate to restore sanity, integrity, and progress in Kano. That mission will not be compromised,” he said.

“I urge all appointees to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of this administration.”He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice, accountability, and service to the people of Kano state.
