“One special problem that we have here is the issue of bunkering. In some parts of the state, in Ahoada East and Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni, most of the bunkering activities there, we believe, are subsisting because there is this cooperation between the Army and top oil companies”. “Carrying out some assignments with any company does not give any person powers to decide for the state how things should be done. Look into the matter,” the governor added. He commended the army and other security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and security across the state.
The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has met with the management team of power generating companies and the distribution companies , urging them to improve on their performance.Although Nigeria’s oil production remains dismal at 1.3 million barrels per day amidst theft and vandalism, Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission , yesterday, said the production would hit two million barrels by the end of this year.
