Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has not given up on the possibility of Manchester City dropping points during the Premier League title race. Despite City having one game in hand, the Gunners have secured three consecutive wins in the league, keeping them top of the table, with a one-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side.
Arteta stressed that there are still many points to play for during the final run-in and Arsenal can keep the pressure on by beating Bournemouth in Saturday's early kick-off. He hopes with his 'heart and soul' that City will stumble in their remaining four games against Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham. The Arsenal manager emphasized that in order to maintain their momentum, they need to perform, prepare, and win the next match, regardless of City's results.
He also acknowledged that managing emotions is equally important in such situations. 'In my heart and in my soul… this is what I am hoping for, yes,' Arteta told reporters when asked if City will drop points. 'You know what is going on . You just want to win and to win you need others to drop points and you are hoping for that to happen. 'And then you have to manage your emotion, because it doesn’t matter what happens on that day.
