Former US Vice President Mike Pence launches his presidential bid, June 7, 2023 Former US Vice President Mike Pence has accused former President Donald Trump of abandoning conservative principles, as he launches his White House bid.
Speaking at a community college in a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa, Pence said Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol after the president insisted he could overturn election results.The former vice president who began his bid for the Republican nomination on Wednesday, condemned Trump’s anti-conservative values and abortion stance.was invaded by pro-Trump supporters who protested the confirmation of then President-elect Joe Biden by congress.
He said Trump should never be re-elected for this act of insurrection by his supporters and for putting himself above the US constitution.
