Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen , has sympathized with Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund . Owen believes the striker is playing in the 'hardest' position in the Premier League at the moment. Hojlund, a Denmark international, led the line on Boxing Day as the Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The centre forward joined Manchester United from Atalanta in the summer of 2023, but has yet to stamp his authority.
Owen, who also played for Manchester United, spoke to the Premier League Productions about the striker's struggles. 'Hojlund… I feel so sorry for the lad. That first half, six passes he received, four of them from defenders so in other words four of them are probably hopeful, long passes and two passes in the first half from a player who you would want to receive a pass off. And he’s supposed to do something with that.
