Met Eireann have given an Aurora Borealis weather forecast for Ireland and have rated the chances of seeing it tonight.This could be the rare opportunity for many across the country to catch a glimpse - as experts say it could be noticeable anywhere.He told Morning Ireland on RTE Radio One: "You see the colours in photographs but to the naked eye unless it's a very strong display, you usually only see a greyish and whitish colour in the sky.
"Normally we'd say a rural location would be good but unfortunately we have a full moon this week, so the moon will be quite bright. Mr Moore went on to say that, while the north may be slightly more likely to see the display, it can easily be seen anywhere in the country. It reads: "Heavy and at times intense rainfall with totals of 25 to 40mm expected. This may result in localized flooding. The rain will clear western counties by early Wednesday morning."
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Mostly cloudy at first today, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle and patches of mist and fog. Brighter and drier conditions will gradually extend from the west this morning, with plenty of sunshine developing by this afternoon and just a few well scattered showers.
