Met Eireann has confirmed the forecast amid worries over a ‘Polar Vortex’ bringing heavy snow in February.
Friday, 27 January Frost and fog will gradually clear during Saturday morning as some bright or sunny spells develop. It will remain dry through most of the day, although cloud will gradually build from the northwest with some outbreaks of rain pushing in to Connacht and Ulster later in the evening. Another rather cool day with highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in just light southwesterly or variable breezes.
Saturday, 28 January Mostly cloudy with isolated outbreaks of rain lingering in Leinster and Munster early on, otherwise dry. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in very light northwesterly breezes, backing westerly by evening.
