The pub has been reimagined with some impressive new touches
Nottinghamshire pub, The Prince Rupert, will reopen its doors after a £170,000 refurbishment with a clandestine treat. Drinkers will find a community pub that still delivers medieval charm and heritage, but with modern playful touches.
It will reopen on Thursday, October 10, followed just over a week later by the opening speakeasy bar The Woolpack, on Friday, October 18. Paying homage to the pub’s earlier identity, The Woolpack will be accessed via a previously hidden entrance and will be providing those ‘in the know’ with moody lighting, killer cocktails and a nod to the 70s.
Located in Stodman Street, Newark, between the castle and the market square, the pub’s interior will be reimagined with contemporary finishes, still with all medieval nooks and crannies, giving an inviting, laid-back vibe.Alongside the real ales and drinks choices already loved by locals, a bigger, bolder range of spirits, ciders and craft beers will also be available.
General manager of nine years, Samantha Johnson, said: "We can’t wait to throw open the doors and welcome guests in to explore what we’ve created here. Providing quality, laid-back experiences that keep people coming back time and again is so important to us, and we are looking forward to delivering a beautiful space where the community, and visitors to the area, can escape, switch off and relax.
