May Day: CAN Urges Gov’t To Treat Workers With Dignity, Respect - Latest News
The Christian Association of Nigeria has called on the federal government and employers of labour to ensure that Nigerian workers are treated with dignity and respect and provide them with decent working conditions, fair wages, and job security.
The president of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, made the call in his message to Nigerian workers in commemoration of the 2023 Worker’s Day celebration on May 1. Okoh in his message said CAN extended warm greetings to all Nigerian workers on this year’s May Day celebration, that as they commemorate this day, CAN recognises the invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers to the growth and development of Nigeria.CAN commended the resilience, dedication, and hardwork of Nigerian workers, who have continued to drive the economy forward despite the numerous challenges facing the nation.
“We recognize the sacrifices they make daily to ensure that their families and the nation at large have a better future. As Christians, we believe that work is not just a means of earning a living but also a means of fulfilling our God-given purpose on earth.
