Ahead of the May 29 inauguration of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the federal government has declared Monday a public holiday.

According to a statement on Friday by Dr Shuaib Belgore, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, the outgoing Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, made the declaration on Thursday in Abuja. Belgore affirmed that the minister called on Nigerians to promote democracy through adherence to the rule of law and upholding all democratic institutions.
