Mattie McGrath apologises for asking where Dr Tony Holohan has been for the past few months
Independent TD Mattie McGrath has apologised in the Dail for asking where Dr Tony Holohan has been over the past few months.
The TD had asked: "Was he with the WHO for the last couple of months, listening to them, or where was he?" He returned on Monday to a storm of attention as the Government rejected NPHET's advice on Sunday to move the nation to Level Five of coronavirus restrictions, instead opting for Level Three. He said: "I did make comments earlier about Dr [Holohan] and asked where he'd been for the last number of months."I want to profoundly apologise if I caused any offence.
He said families, people with disabilities and businesses are being “terrorised” and the “alarmist” level 5 NPHET message was “shocking.”
