Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially received defectors from the All Progressives Congress, APC, into the New
Nigeria Peoples Party.
This was revealed in a statement by the Governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. Governor Yusuf said the defection showed that his administration’s programmes and policies over the past two years were making real impacts. He recalled that during the 2023 campaign, he visited all 44 local government areas, including Dawakin Tofa, and promised to bring the dividends of democracy to every part of the state.
’s National Leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who also expressed happiness over the development. The Governor mentioned some achievements in Dawakin Tofa, such as completing the five-kilometer road abandoned by the previous administration. He also promised to build a new school in the area. He assured the new members that they would be fully integrated into the party without discrimination, warned against intimidation, and pledged to deliver more dividends of democracy.
