Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has approved the conduct of the year 2022 and 2023 Promotion/ Conversion/ Confirmation exercise in the state's civil service. The exercise is coming three weeks after the state government cancelled the Command Promotions and other elevation exercises which were carried out by the immediate past administration which Otti's government alleged did not follow due process.
The announcement copy which was dated July 25, 2024, and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dim Ijeoma Clara, for the Chairman of the Abia State Civil Service Commission, advised that the brief for years 2022 and 2023 should be prepared separately for ease of reference. The promotion information, a copy which was sighted by DAILY POST, was made available to Journalists, said 'the Commission will not entertain any late or on-the-spot submission of briefs during the DSB meetings'.
