For the Maple Leafs, Auston Matthews scored twice, the second on a lovely backhand over sprawling goalie Linus Ullmark, and Frédérik Gauthier scored for the second time in as many games. The fourth-line centre, scratched from the lineup recently due to lacklustre play, got his first goal since Oct. 7 on Saturday in a defeat of the Oilers in Edmonton.

In two previous meetings with the Maple Leafs this month, Eichel had two goals and one assist. In his career, Eichel has scored more goals against Toronto than any other team. He has 22 points against them in 16 career games.
