Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and so far no arrests have been made.
A man was rushed to hospital after being bitten by a dog believed to be an XL Bully in a public park on Friday evening.
"The owner of the dog left the scene with the dog prior to police arrival. The dog is believed to be a grey-coloured XL Bully. There have been no arrests; enquiries are ongoing." Owners who currently have an XL Bully will be allowed to keep their pets if they are registered, neutered and muzzled in public.
In a separate incident just days later, two out-of-control dogs belonging to the breed escaped their home and killed a man.
