A 34-year-old man, Ifeanyi Apusiobi, on Sunday, allegedly killed his daughter and son in Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He was also alleged to have inflicted injuries on his father before neighbours rescued the 72-year-old man.on condition of anonymity, said Ifeanyi went berserk early in the morning and attacked his children and killed them in their sleep.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.Mohammed explained that the man killed the children, Chinecherem and Obinna, with a pestle, while they were asleep, adding that he also injured his aged father in the head.Mohammed stated, “Around 1am on Sunday, police personnel attached to the Ogbunike Police Station arrested one Ifeanyi Apusiobi, 34, of Azu Ogbunike in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
“The suspect equally used the same object to injure his father, one Dominic Apusiobi, 72, in his head.”
