Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 39-year old man, Mfon Jeremiah, who defiled and consequently impregnated his 13 year old

The Cross Rivers State-born Mfon was arrested on Thursday at his house in one of the private estates in Mowe following a complaint lodged with the police by the mother of the victim.

The command’s Public Relations Officer , Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed Mfon’s arrest, said the victim’s mother had approached the Mowe Divisional Headquarters of the police where she complained that inquiry conducted on her daughter confirmed that her biological father was responsible for her pregnancy after a medical examination of the minor confirmed she was pregnant.

“Upon the report, the DPO Mowe Division, Folake Afeniforo, a Superintendent of Police, quickly detailed detectives to the suspect’s house where he was promptly arrested. “On interrogation, the suspect confessed being responsible for his daughter’s pregnancy, but claimed that he was under a spell when he did it,” he said.Oyeyemi further disclosed that the suspect, who confessed to committing the offense, later told the police that he dreamt of having sexual intercourse with his estranged wife, who had for a long time, separated from him but “only to discover that it was her daughter that he had sex with”.
