A man suffering severe stab wounds was found on a northeast bike path Thursday night, say Calgary EMS yyc
Police have taped off a section of the Bow River pathway between Centre St. and Edmonton Tr. N.E. and closed one eastbound lane on Memorial Dr. Friday morning after a man was found with several stab wounds at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux.
“When we arrived, a man in his mid-30s had received multiple injuries involving a knife,” said Brideaux. “He was in serious and life-threatening condition at the time of transport to Foothills Medical Centre.” When EMS arrived at the scene, there didn’t appear to be any witnesses present and it wasn’t clear if the man had been stabbed where he’d been found, he said.
Brideaux said there were no delays in the response by EMS, which has been plagued in recent months by shortages of paramedic teams on city streets.
