A MAN HAS been forced at gunpoint to drive to a police station in Derry city with a suspicious object, the PSNI have said.
“This must have been a horrific ordeal for the driver and we hope he recovers from this traumatic incident.”The nearby Altnagelvin Hospital closed due to a “security alert”, while local police said that a “suspicious device” had been found.PSNI officers are at the scene and a number of homes have been evacuated, a spokesperson said.Crescent Link in the Waterside has re-opened, however, some diversions remain in place as the public safety operation continues. Sinn Féin’s leader in the North Michelle O’Neill said that the situation in Derry is “extremely concerning.”
