The police in Anambra State have arrested a 32-year-old man, Chgbo Akpoluobo, for allegedly defiling a seven-year- old girl. Chigbo, it was gathered.
lured the girl to his residence on Ubodukwu Road, Nkitaku, near Onitsha, where he sexually molested her.
“The suspect, a native of the Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, confessed to the crime and blamed the devil for his action,” a source told our correspondent. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, said the suspect had been arrested while the victim was taken to the hospital.
He said, “The suspect has voluntarily confessed to the offence. The Commissioner of Police, John Abang, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, after which the suspect will be charged to court.”All rights reserved.
