A man in his early 40s from the Shuswap area has been charged with the 2016 slaying of his former girlfriend Ashley Simpson. The body of the 31-year-old was recently found during a search outside Salmon Arm. The suspect will return to court in February 2024 for consideration of factors that could affect sentencing.
