Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has presented instrument of office to the Olu of Igbo-Ora, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye.
Our correspondent reports that the staff of office was presented to the monarch in Igbo-Ora at the weekend.Makinde, while presenting the staff of office to the monarch, noted that traditional rulers have a critical role in the development of every society. Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, who spoke on behalf of the Governor, stressed the important roles played by traditional rulers in securing lives and property.
He advised the new monarch to collaborate with the state government in ensuring meaningful development in his community. Makinde, while speaking further, reiterated the commitment of his administration at ensuring that traditional institutions in the state are placed in their proper position.“You are thus expected to discharge your duties as the Paramount Ruler of Igbo-Ora Land in the State Council of Obas and Chiefs with fairness and ensure you consult other Obas and Traditional Rulers to take objective decision that will enhance the rapid development of Igbo-Ora and entire Oyo State”.
