We’ve seen time and time again, how Singaporeans would come to Malaysia to pump petrol for their vehicles because it’s a lot cheaper for them to do that here. But, even then, they are only allowed to use RON 97 petrol.

Despite the rule, Malaysians have constantly highlighted and even confronted Singaporeans for opening pumping RON 95 into their vehicles, with many now monitoring cars with ‘S’ number plates at Malaysian petrol stations. One Malaysian, though, got the shock of his life upon realising that number plates that start with the letter ‘S’ are not necessarily Singaporean, after he confronted a Proton Bezza driver only to be told that he was from Sandakan, Malaysia! In the video, a Malaysian man could be heard confronting the Proton Bezza owner for pumping RON 95 petrol into his car after assuming he’s Singaporean due to his number plate starting with an ‘S’.

Before the car owner can say anything, the man then calls over a petrol station worker to ask why they’re allowing ‘Singaporeans’ to pump RON 95 petrol. It turns out that number plates for car from Sabah start with the letter ‘S’, so let’s not be too quick to confront car owners without actually knowing whether they are Malaysian or Singaporean!Have you ever found yourself mistaking a Malaysian for a Singaporean? Do feel free to share your experiences in the comment section.
