Crisis broke out on June 6, 2023, after two Speakers, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi and Hon. Daniel Ogazi emerged during the election of a Speaker for the 7th Assembly. Since then, members-elect of the assembly had been divided into two different groups.

“I urge the security agencies to also be alert at a time like this. They should deploy adequate operatives across the state to tackle any form of political violence that may arise as a result of the disagreements.”

Speaking on the ongoing Presidential Election Tribunal at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Alexander Ombugu expressed confidence that the LP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will emerge victorious at the end of the case in court. He called on the Judiciary to continue to be upright in Justice delivery in spite of the challenges and urged security operatives in the FCT not to allow themselves to be used by greedy and desperate politicians who do not mean well for the nation.

“At a time like this, members of the judiciary and security personnel are likely to face intimidation from politicians who are greedy and desperate. But I want to urge them to continue to discharge their duties according to the laws guarding their professions, for the betterment of our dear country, Nigeria,” Ombugu said.

While expressing gratitude to supporters of the Labour Party across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, Ombugu called for prayers for the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, to enable him to succeed in taking the party to greater heights. All rights reserved.
