Outside Unit for the union still bogged down in negotiations with the City of Greater Sudbury

The Inside Unit for CUPE Local 4705 voted to ratify a new collective agreement with the City of Greater Sudbury on July 6, but the negotiations between the city and the union’s Outside Unit remain at an impasse.

Last week, Keith said “major quality-of-life issues on the table” and issues regarding scheduling have thus far prevented the union and the city from finding middle ground. Last week, the Outside Unit delivered a strike mandate vote of 96.1 per cent, and the Inside Unit voted 91.8 per cent in favour of a strike mandate.
