In the last NDP platform, Jagmeet Singh’s party promised both a national “pharmacare for all” plan and a universal dental care program that would cover the costs Canadians currently without private dental insurance.

The deal between the party was described by one source as a “confidence and supply deal”, and not a coalition government deal which would usually involve naming an NDP member to cabinet. Rumours of a possible NDP and Liberal coalition emerged after the last election. At the time NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said he would not enter a formal coalition with the government.

While ruling out any sort of coalition, Singh did say he was open to talks with the government, but said back in November that no deal was on the table.Article content
