Former Leicester City defender, Grant Brown, Australia-born Liam Merrick and Ipswich Town’s Ashley Foulger are the three top coaches
expected at second FCV Gladiator Camp, which holds at Grange School Lagos from April 1 to 5.
Grant’s playing career boasts a remarkable 18-year stint as a defender, accumulating nearly 600 appearances. His journey started at Leicester City, followed by 13-year at Lincoln City, notably, becoming Lincoln City’s highest appearance holder, amassing an impressive 407 league outings. Currently working towards his UEFA B Licence, Foulger’s coaching journey has taken him across the globe, shaping talents in Finland, Hong Kong, Albania. He served as the FCV’s steadfast goalkeeping coach and he is a vital part of the Football Department.
Coach Randy Waldrum has invited captain Rasheedat Ajibade, U.S.-based Africa queen, Asisat Oshoala and high-riding goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie among a group of 22 players for the two-legged Paris Olympics final qualifying fixture against South Africa next month. The South African Football Association is adamant Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, is going nowhere despite a report in the Tunisian media yesterday that the Belgian is set to dump South Africa, reports timeslive.co.za.
