The Vice Chancellor, Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, has disclosed that the university is ready to collaborate with the government of India, by giving scholarships to prospective students from India to come study at the institution.
“We firmly believe that engineering and technology are catalyst for growth and progress, and this public lecture serves as a platform to explore how international collaboration and strategic foreign policy can accelerate Nigeria’s journey towards becoming a global technological powerhouse.
“It is hoped that this event will signal a new partnership through intellectual technology transfer between Indian technological institutions and Lead City University,” Adeyemo said. In his address, the Indian envoy said, “Indian academic institutions and research organisations collaborate with their international counterparts on various research projects. Through these collaborations and academic exchanges, transfer occurs as researchers share knowledge, expertise, and scientific advancements.
“We discussed with the vice chancellor, and it would be about student exchange programme, they also talked about telemedicine, so I have advised them to make a proposal.” A former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, who was the guest lecturer, said Nigeria must take advantage of technology to address its challenges in order not to lag behind in today’s world driven, especially, by Information and Communications Technology.All rights reserved.
