Lawyer and human rights activist, Olukoya Ogungbeje, has instituted a fundamental right enforcement suit against the Federal Government and security agencies over alleged move to stop the proposed 'hunger protest', scheduled to hold between August 1 and 10.

He said he was suing for himself and other patriotic Nigerian citizens planning to embark on peaceful protests for good governance in Nigeria. Concerned Nigerlites Organisation, in collaboration with Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support organisation, National Youth Council of Nigeria and others, has opposed the planned national protest, noting that it is not solution to the socio-political and economic crises bedeviling the country.
A Bauchi-based group, Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law Initiative , has decried the incessant loss of lives on Bauchi roads, attributing the cause to the consumption of hard drugs by drivers. The leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations , Pastor Evelyn Joshua, has admonished youths to open their hearts to a transformative, impactful, and purposeful lifestyle.
