To tackle the insatiable quest by Nigerians to seek medical attention abroad, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has upgraded its infrastructure to international standards.

Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, who disclosed this yesterday, in Lagos, said that the move was to keep in tune with global practices via continuous facility upgrade, renovation, construction, improved clinical capacity and training of members of staff.

Fabamwo said the diabetes clinic, house officers’ quarters, private wards, psychiatric ward, as well as the burns and trauma annex in Gbagada had been renovated, upgraded, furnished, extended and commissioned, adding that renovation work on Ayinke House was ongoing. According to him, the hospital carried out microvascular surgery tissue in the head and neck successfully, adding that it now carries out ICD insertion and neurosurgical intervention and also performs microvascular breast surgery .
