Lagos State is at the centre of a significant cholera outbreak in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has said.

The NCDC said that the outbreak resulted in seven deaths nationwide, with a case fatality rate of 6.1 per cent in the state.It said that Ogun state reported seven cases, while Katsina had one case. It stated that the month also saw 32 deaths across the country, with a CFR of 5.6 per cent, significantly higher than the national expected average of one per cent, underscoring the severity of the situation
